Have you heard? Sewing Indie Month is back! Mari from Seamster Patterns has taken it upon her to host this great event for a second time, this year to be held in September. Paprika Patterns is taking part, so I’m happy to tell you all about the great content, collaborations and especially the awesome, hugely discounted pattern bundles! The SIM headquarters are sewindependent.com, where you can read about the participating designers, and buy the pattern bundles.
What’s Sewing Indie Month?
Sewing Indie Month (SIM) is a month-long celebration of indie sewing patterns where designers collaborate to bring you fun blog posts and informative tutorials. This year SIM will take place in September. It’s accompanied by a sewalong contest with fantastic prizes. 21 indie pattern designers are taking part this year. You can read more about the designers and buy the pattern bundle at sewindependent.com.
New: Pattern Bundles
New this year are two pattern bundles. They consist of 10 PDF patterns, and are available for a limited time. You can choose your own price for the bundles and unlock new patterns when you choose to spend over a certain amount. The pattern bundles are hugely discounted, so I urge you to take a look – it’s not likely you will ever again be able to get these patterns at this price! Pattern Bundle 1 is on sale right now – only available until Wednesday August 12th. The Saltbox Top by Blueprints for Sewing and Sorrel Dress & Top by Seamster Sewing Patterns are brand new patterns that are being released with the bundle. During the sale you can only buy them as part of the bundle.
What’s more, 20% of bundle proceeds will be donated to the International Folk Art Alliance, which provides education and exhibition opportunities to folk artists from around the world.
Sewing Indie Month is all about spreading awareness, discovering new designers and fun collaborations. Paprika Patterns has been paired with three other awesome designers. During the month of September we’ll be:
- posting a tutorial for True Bias on how to make a Southport Dress with a button loop closure
- interviewed by SomaPatterns
- interviewing Waffle Patterns
- posting a tutorial by DixieDIY on how to make an Onyx Shirt with a lace yoke
I’ll keep you posted about where to find what, and when the second pattern bundle sale goes live at the beginning of August. That one features 10 patterns from 10 other designers, including our Jasper Sweater/Dress, and is more oriented towards knitwear.
For now, don’t miss out on this great pattern sale, and we’ll report back for SIM in September!
