New Pattern: Jasper Crossover Collar Add-On

Attention all Jasper lovers: there’s a new look to create with the Jasper Sweater & Dress pattern! The Jasper Crossover Collar Add-on can be used in conjunction with the Jasper pattern to create a modern crossover collar and a kangaroo pocket. The add-on includes full instructions and a new Front pattern piece to accommodate the higher neckline. The collar is lined and can be worn two ways, depending on your choice of fabric. With a stiff fabric you can shape it to sit upright, and with a lighter fabric you can also roll it down. A contrasting lining like we used in the sample is a fun way to add something extra.

Since its release in early 2015, the Jasper has been a very popular pattern. The bodice with princess seams is a great base, and I felt I could offer more than the two views included in the pattern. I’ve seen the crossover collar a lot the past few years and I love the look, so I created one for the Jasper. I also liked the idea of making an quick-to-sew version, so I’ve added a simple kangaroo pocket. I like the polished look of the welt pockets, but I can see that they might seem intimidating, and they also add some time to the process. With this add-on you’ll have a cosy sweater in no-time.

So what exactly is an Add-On? Well, it’s an additional pattern pack that allows you to make a new view of an existing pattern. You need both patterns to make the garment, as the Add-On only includes the extra pattern pieces. With the two patterns you can mix and match the collar options and the pockets. We’ve added a Jasper Bundle to the shop as well, which gives you 10% off the two patterns together.

The Jasper pattern has been updated to Version 1.3, with changes made to the princess seams, the shoulders, sleeves and hip ease. You need V.1.3 if you want to make the Add-On, but I’d recommend using this one anyway to achieve a better fit. If you’ve purchased the Jasper in the past, your pattern has automatically been updated. Log into your account to download it again. 1. Hi Lisa, thanks for another great pattern!
I didn’t have enough fabric for a full jasper version, but i used the collar on a self-drafted drop shoulder sweatshirt pattern, and I love how it has worked out!
