NEW: Jade Skirt With Updated Size Range

Hello friends, today I have some good news: the Jade Skirt has had a major update! It’s now available in our store at 20% off (until April 5th 2020, 00:00 CET), and those who already have it can find the Jade Skirt with updated size range in their account.

So what’s new? Well, we’ve added three sizes to our size chart! It now goes up to a hip size of 146 cm (US size 30). Apart from added sizes, nothing has been changed on the pattern pieces or the fit.

The instructions have had a major overhaul: all the information is now in one .pdf file instead of 3 different ones. I’ve also added lots of little snippets: extra tips, better explanations, more illustrations and three new videos to accompany the construction steps.

And, as you’ve noticed, it’s not just me modeling anymore! I am so thrilled to have worked with Megan (@megmadethis) to better represent the skirt across the size range. In fact, I will continue to hire different models with every new pattern update from now on.

I’m so excited to bring this update to you, to make this skirt available to a larger range of people and to make the sewing process even more enjoyable. Go check out the Jade Skirt pattern in our shop!

New Pattern: Jasper Crossover Collar Add-On

Attention all Jasper lovers: there’s a new look to create with the Jasper Sweater & Dress pattern! The Jasper Crossover Collar Add-on can be used in conjunction with the Jasper pattern to create a modern crossover collar and a kangaroo pocket. The add-on includes full instructions and a new Front pattern piece to accommodate the higher neckline. The collar is lined and can be worn two ways, depending on your choice of fabric. With a stiff fabric you can shape it to sit upright, and with a lighter fabric you can also roll it down. A contrasting lining like we used in the sample is a fun way to add something extra.

How Our Sizechart Works

In this post I’d like to give you some insight in how our size chart is built up, and how we came to this range of sizes. As you might know almost every indie pattern company creates its own sizechart. Every designer does his or her research on the subject, and then chooses the sizes/size proportions he or she thinks represent the average women best. Zircon: Recommended Fabric (+ Discount!)

Let’s zoom in on what fabrics are suitable for the Zircon Sweater/Dress.The recommended fabric section in the instructions lists sweater fleece, neoprene, fleece and quilted jersey. French terry’s, jacquard and interlock or double knits can also be suitable, but with these you definitely have to check the amount of stretch.
